Congratulations Humberto Flores-Landeros!

Humberto won the Outstanding Student Award granted by the School of Engineering at UC Merced in the Fall 2020. He joins the tradition started by Spencer Cole in 2019 of wining the award for the best Environmental Engineering Student as an Undergraduate Researcher of our lab, and then continuing as a Graduate Student.

Humberto has also won the prize for the best Engineering Capstone Project for the track of Agriculture Technology.


Just because there has been rain lately doesn’t mean California is drought-free. California climate extremes have featured some of the worst multi-year droughts on record, illustrating fast changing conditions that threaten agricultural water supplies and the state’s rising population. Water management that is incremental and institutional learning at all levels have given the foundation for better water management.Besides the monetary evaluation of drought impacts, the group additionally plans to research agricultural water costs, produces a chain of news including forecasts and technical and coverage recommendations, and have interaction with clinical and stakeholder companions thru loads of channels inclusive of workshops
