The effects of climate change are wide and diverse, including events and trends such as wildfires, heavy rains, flooding, periods of extreme heat, drought, rising temperatures, decline in snowpack, sea level rise, and ocean acidification. Some of these have already been experienced in California in response to the changing climate. Senate Bill 1320<\/span><\/a> allows researchers to develop California Climate Change Assessments on an interval of 5 years to increase understanding on how the effects of climate change and how to combat them. The 5<\/span>th<\/span> California Climate Change Assessment, led by researchers at the University of California, primarily aims to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Provide updated scientific information on how climate change is affecting California<\/li>\n
  2. Assess risks and vulnerabilities across different sectors and regions<\/li>\n
  3. Evaluate potential adaptation measures and resilience strategies<\/li>\n
  4.
